Born in Monreale, Sicily, in 1939, Terruso showed an early aptitude for art. He attended the School of Art in Palermo, where he honed his skills and developed his artistic sensibility. In 1958, he moved to Milan to further his artistic studies, enrolling in the prestigious Brera Academy of Fine Arts. Terruso's artistic style evolved throughout his career, but it was consistently characterized by its vibrancy, expressiveness, and bold use of color. He was influenced by various art movements, including Impressionism, Expressionism, and Post-Impressionism. Terruso's paintings often featured landscapes, still lifes, and portraits.
