A very beautiful solid oak wardrobe made of Münsterland oak, with three doors and three drawers. It is a so-called "dowry wardrobe," used to store tablecloths and bed linens for the daughter's wedding. This richly decorated piece of joinery was handcrafted as a unique item for a farming household near Lüdinghausen in the Coesfeld district. It dates back to approximately 1890. Today, this large wardrobe is suitable as a closet, but also for a living room or hallway. Elegant and a true eye-catcher, it is the centerpiece of any room – in short, an exceptional and unique piece. Despite its classic design, it also fits well as a standalone piece in a modern setting. The construction is extremely robust and will last for generations to come – unlike today's mass-produced furniture. The condition is very good. Of course, a few signs of wear are visible, indicating that this wardrobe has seen its fair share of use in its approximately 135 years. For about 50 years, it served my parents as a living room and hi-fi cabinet. For the last ten years, it's been in our hallway for storing things like tablecloths (both are non-smoking households). Despite its size, the cabinet is easy to move because it's not screwed together and can therefore be easily disassembled.
