Artist Paul de Lussanet grew up with his grandparents in laren who both practiced painting. He studied economics at the University of Amsterdam In 1960 his parents allowed him to take an etching course on the island of Lesbos through the art academy of Athens. He trained between 1961 and 1962 in Salzburg at the "Schule des Sehens" under the direction of Kokoschka and in Antwerp at the Royal Academy of Art where he produced landscape Ecole-de-Paris -like abstract paintings. He then spent three years in Paris. He debuted in the Laren Knipscheer in 1964 with works of erotic women.
He has had studios in many places besides Laren also in Baarn, Mander in Twente, Paris, Vence (southern France) and in Amsterdam. She work is generally figurative and with variegated colors.
