The “Krobo” bench, designed by Torbjørn Afdal in the 1960s and produced by Mellemstrands Møbelfabrikk in Norway, is a refined example of rigorous Nordic modernism. Crafted in teak, it features a slim top with a slightly raised edge and trestle-style legs defined by clean geometry. Its balanced proportions and sturdy construction also allow it to function as a coffee table. The original manufacturer’s label is present. Afdal, a key figure in post-war Norwegian design, is celebrated for elegant, functional pieces distinguished by pure lines and exceptional craftsmanship.
