Description
Niels Otto Laursen Møller was a Danish cabinetmaker, furniture designer, and entrepreneur.
Møller first completed an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker before pursuing his studies at the Design School in Aarhus. In 1944, he founded J.L. Møllers Møbelfabrik A/S, which is still run today by his two sons at the very same location. For the company, the designer created numerous iconic pieces that are now considered prime examples of Danish Mid-Century design. Møller’s work is characterized by supreme craftsmanship combined with an elegant Scandinavian aesthetic. The No. 71 chair is an early piece dating from 1951 and is today counted among his most renowned designs.
