Product description
**Title:** Abstract work by Nicole Vaysse **Technique:** Ink on paper **Dimensions:** 43.5 cm x 34.5 cm **Framing :** Original aluminum with Japanese silk passe-partout **Condition:** Traces of use on frame **Description:** Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Nicole Vaysse with this remarkable abstract work. Created in Indian ink on paper, it testifies to the artist's expertise and creativity in exploring biomorphic motifs and meticulous detail. The sinuous shapes and intricate patterns reveal an Eastern influence, particularly Persian, and captivate with their visual richness and depth. Each element of this composition is the fruit of meticulous craftsmanship, offering a unique and immersive visual experience. Framed in its original aluminum with a Japanese silk mat, the work retains a timeless elegance despite some signs of use to the frame. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a previously unseen piece by Nicole Vaysse, an artist whose work remains on the bangs of traditional circuits, but whose talent deserves your full attention. **Pierre-François & Nicole Vaysse biography** The group of works in this sale offers a rare opportunity to discover the work of Pierre-François and Nicole Vaysse, a Belgian artist couple as talented as they are mysterious. Active in the 1970s in Lasnes, south of Brussels, they devoted themselves to creating a body of art brut and abstraction of great sophistication, while remaining deliberately outside the traditional art circuits. Their meticulous, obsessive approach results in works of great expressive power and singular identity. Pierre-François has distinguished himself by depicting fantastical figures emerging from geometrically patterned backgrounds, while Nicole has explored biomorphic abstraction, creating sinuous friezes and motifs inspired by Persian art. Together, they have developed a unique visual language, at the crossroads of art brut and outsider art. Despite the quality and relevance of their work, the Vaysse have never exhibited it, preferring to keep it in the privacy of their studio. It was only when they bought back their house in Lasnes, abandoned when they moved to the south of France in the 1980s, that their work was rediscovered, intact, in their studio. Today, presenting these works to the public is an exceptional opportunity: it's the first time this studio collection has been unveiled. Each piece testifies to the creative richness and artistic freedom of a couple who remained on the margins, but whose work, at once enigmatic and profoundly authentic, deserves the full attention of lovers of art brut and abstraction.
