The painting, a unique piece in the Gothic Revival style, depicts the neo-Gothic Marienburg Castle, built by the House of Welf near Hanover. It is considered one of the most important buildings of its kind in Germany and is often called the "Neuschwanstein" of the North.
It was built by the last King of Hanover, George V, who gifted it to his wife, Marie of Saxe-Altenburg.
The work, created in an abstract style, is multi-layered and painted on a 70x70 cm canvas.
The Hanoverian artist, "Stefano," has a large following of collectors in Northern Germany and Eindhoven.
