A spectacular Murano artistic vase, 1960s/1970s – a unique example of Italian artistic glassware made using the sommerso and lava glass techniques. The transparent glass body with a dynamically formed edge has been enriched with contrasting streams of black and deep red, which flow like solidified lava, creating an effect of dramatic movement and expression. The monumental form makes this object a true glass sculpture, ideal as the centrepiece of a mid-century modern, glamour or eclectic interior design. This vase is one of the most spectacular Murano works of the era – an example of a masterful combination of craft tradition and bold, avant-garde design.
Condition: The vase is preserved in its original condition and may show normal signs of use (minor scratches).
