Bullicante Murano glass vase with gold leaf, made by Barovier & Toso in the 1960s. Ø 27 cm Ø 21 cm h 40 cm. Barovier & Toso is a glassworks, known for its artisanal collections of decorative Murano glass in the 20th century. Angelo Barovier's chemical innovations in crystal glass production characterized the early collections consisting of bottles and colored glass objects. Subsequently, further innovations led to the creation of a series of designs using multicolored murrine. In the 1930s, they began experimenting with heavier glass forms with irregular surfaces and handles. In 1942, Barovier joined forces with the Toso brothers, other important glass manufacturers, to form Barovier & Toso, based at Palazzo Contarini in Murano. The company maintains traditional techniques but at the same time incorporates contemporary styles and forms. This table lamp is made entirely of Murano glass, both its body and its base, with a brass insert. The colors of the glass are perfectly crafted and lend warmth to the environment.
