For the connoisseur of high-end Mid-Century Modern design: an impressive, monumental XL "Fat Lava" design vase by the German quality manufacturer Steuler Keramik from the 1960s. This iconic, architectural design, with its striking asymmetrical disc rim and streamlined handle, was designed in the distinctive style of Cari Zalloni (series 315). The vase features a stunning contrast between the matte, sleek white glaze on the top and a coarse, textured "Fat Lava" structure with dark speckles on the robust body. The underside is correctly marked with the embossed Steuler shield and model number 315/33. Dimensions & Weight: Height: approx. 35 cm (the rare and sought-after XL variant!) Weight: 2123 grams (heavy, high quality) Condition: The vase is in beautiful, display-worthy vintage condition. There are absolutely no chips. At the transition to the handle, a few superficial glaze hairline cracks/shrinkage seams are visible. This is purely within the outer glaze layer and is not a break in the ceramic: the vase 'pings' beautifully and clearly when tapped, and the handle is structurally 100% solid and rock-solid. An absolute eye-catcher for any modern or vintage interior!
