Impressive large-scale Art Deco sculpture by the French artist Charles Lemanceau (Charles), dating from around 1930.
This dynamic and elegant composition shows a winged female figure carried by a rearing horse, a powerful and decorative subject typical of high-quality Art Deco sculpture.
The piece is beautifully modelled, with strong lines, expressive movement, and finely detailed anatomy. The contrast between the muscular horse and the flowing wings of the female figure creates a striking visual balance, making this sculpture a true statement piece for an interior.
Made in patinated spelter (régule) with a deep dark finish and mounted on its original marble base. The sculpture is signed “Charles”, confirming attribution to Charles Lemanceau.
Its generous dimensions make it far more substantial than most similar Art Deco works and ideal as a focal point on a console, sideboard, or pedestal.
A rare and decorative example of French Art Deco sculpture, perfect for collectors or design lovers looking for an authentic and impactful period piece.
