Particular large art deco tapestry with monogram JAS - handwoven - ca. 1930s
Very decorative and unique art deco tapestry, probably handwoven in silk or silk-blend. The work shows a stylized depiction of seagulls fishing near a wooden ducat in an undulating waterscape. The color scheme is sophisticated and harmonious, with beautiful shades of blue, cream, sand and green.
The design is reminiscent of the Amsterdam School style or Scandinavian art deco (such as Märta Måås-Fjetterström). A woven-in monogram is visible in the lower left corner: J A S.
