He was a Swedish artist. He grew up in Mariestad and studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1945-1949, at the Free Academy of Stockholm in 1950-1951 and at the Academy of Fine Arts in 1951-1956. He is famous not only for his graphic design, but also for some fifty public decorations made of various materials. Through concrete art where curves and rectilinear forms alternate, Fogelquist moves towards abstract expressionism. His paintings are characterized by rapid movements, a surprising imagination and an intense play of colors. One of his most interesting monumental works is a mural in the engine house of the former Svenska Tobaks AB in Malmö.
