Product description
A classic Scandinavian armchair designed by Alf Svensson for the Swedish brand DUX in the 1960s. It is a quintessential example of Swedish modernism, blending functionality with a soft, organic form. Surviving examples of this model are recognized as DUX productions from the 1960s, crafted from solid teak. The armchair's most distinctive feature is its teak frame. The wood's warm hue and natural grain harmonize beautifully with the furniture's simple structure. Svensson avoids heavy, bulky elements here; the armrests flow seamlessly into the front legs, while the slender, slightly tapered legs lend the piece an airy lightness. The rounded edges and gentle lines of the frame are characteristic of mid-century Scandinavian design. The piece has been professionally and carefully restored by removing old coatings, staining and finishing with varnish. The work was carried out by a talented carpenter with over 20 years of experience. The seat and backrest have been newly upholstered in beige fabric, and the foam padding has also been replaced. Thanks to this restoration, the armchair looks magnificent and is ready to serve its new owner for years to come, withstanding daily use without issue.
