Product description
The Stefan armchair, type 300-139, was manufactured in the 1960s by the Swarzędz Furniture Factory in Poland and was a Polish export product. It was sold by IKEA, among others. It can be found in the IKEA catalog as "Jarl" in 1964 and "Stefan" in 1965. It was made of two types of wood – beech and, less frequently, oak. Unfortunately, the name of the designer of this chair is unknown. This design is sometimes attributed to Helena and Jerzy Kurmanowicz, supposedly created in 1959 for the PAGED (Polish Wood Export Agency) competition, but this information is unconfirmed in any catalogs or historical sources. The frame of the armchairs is made of solid beech and has been professionally and carefully restored by removing the old coatings, staining, and finishing in varnish. The restoration was carried out by a talented and experienced carpenter with over 20 years of experience. The seat and backrest cushions have been reupholstered in a beige recycled wool fabric. Thanks to this treatment, the chairs look beautiful and will serve their new owner for many years without fear of damage or wear and tear from everyday use.
