This elegant compact sideboard is a classic piece of Czechoslovakian mid-century design, designed by František Jirák for the renowned manufacturer Tatra Nábytok in the 1960s. Known for his clean lines and functional ingenuity, Jirák designed this piece with a unique dual-compartment layout featuring a large cabinet door and a set of drawers with sculptural, integrated wooden handles.
A particularly clever feature of this model is the hinged top section on the right side, which opens to reveal a hidden storage compartment—perfect for use as a bar or for keeping everyday essentials out of sight. Its warm wood veneer and tapered legs embody the timeless modernist aesthetic of the era.
The sideboard is in original vintage condition. Please note that the lock is missing from the large door, and due to its age, there are some minor scratches on the wood surfaces; please refer to the detailed photos for a closer look at the patina and finish.
