The Design
This striking 1970s pendant light is a superb example of Space Age and Mid-Century Scandinavian design. Featuring clean, modernist lines and an industrial edge, this piece is strongly attributed to the iconic designer Jo Hammerborg for the renowned Danish lighting manufacturer Fog & Mørup.
Materials & Mechanism
The standout feature of this lamp is its original Italian "Rolly" rise-and-fall (pull-down) mechanism. The height can be effortlessly adjusted using the elegant chromed tubular handle. The main shade is crafted from high-quality brushed aluminum, featuring a satin white interior to provide a warm, optimal light diffusion over a dining table or kitchen island.
Condition
Very good authentic vintage condition. The structural integrity is excellent, and the Rolly mechanism operates smoothly. As with any genuine piece of 50-year-old design, it shows minor signs of its history, including faint micro-scratches and one small scratch on the aluminum shade (please refer to the final photo). These are virtually imperceptible once the fixture is hung. The wiring has been fully checked and the lamp is ready to be installed.
