This rare and beautifully crafted Batchelor chest of drawers with wardrobe compartments is an early and sought-after piece by E. Gomme, the esteemed British furniture maker that later became the iconic G Plan. It bears the original E. Gomme mark on the cupboard door – a genuine piece of mid-century design heritage.
Crafted in rich golden oak with a smooth, warm patina developed over decades. A versatile configuration of three spacious drawers paired with two cupboard sections. Smaller cupboard includes an internal shelf, ideal for folded garments or accessories. Larger cupboard is fitted with a pull-out hanging rail, offering wardrobe functionality in a compact footprint. Clean lines, understated handles, and gently rounded corners reflect the refined design language of post-war British furniture.
