Offered: an exceptional and extremely rare set of three (3) monumental vintage 'up and down' wall lamps from the 1960s/70s. These heavy design fixtures are a beautiful example of Mid-Century Modern and Space Age design from Central Europe and are strongly attributed to the high-quality glass workshops of Kamenický Šenov (Czechoslovakia).
What makes this particular set unique is the imposing, robust scale and the raw quality. While most cylinder lamps from this period are small and lightweight, this is the sought-after XL version with a height of approx. 28 cm, a diameter of no less than 11.5 cm, and a weight of over 2.5 kilos each. A complete set of three identical examples in this heavy design cannot be found anywhere on the current market. An absolute statement piece for a high-end interior, a long hallway, or an exclusive interior project. The Glass and the Construction:
The lamps are crafted from heavy, thick chased pressed glass (also known as 'Eisglas' or 'Bubble glass'). The glass features an organic, coarse studded texture on the outside. The authentic maker's absolute 'fingerprint' is found on the inside: here, a beautiful, radially ribbed relief is pressed into the glass, running from the center to the edges. This ensures a fabulous, warm, and diffuse refraction of light across the wall, both upwards and downwards.
The heavy glass cylinders are held firmly in place by a solid, brown metal ring with characteristic perforated ventilation holes around the fittings. This gives the lamps a beautiful, robust mid-century look. Specifications:

The thick glass of all three lamps is in beautiful, clear vintage condition without any distracting damage. The lamps are equipped with their original vintage components.
Due to the substantial total weight (over 7.5 kg of glass and metal) and the fragility, pickup is strongly preferred. Insured shipping is possible upon consultation; in that case, the lamps will be packed extremely professionally in separate, thick compartments.
