Beautiful designer table clock by the German brand Haid from the 1950s/60s. A stylish eye-catcher that fits perfectly in a mid-century modern, vintage, or eclectic interior.
Design & Condition:
The clock features a characteristic trapezoidal case with a beautiful two-tone wood finish (light and dark veneer). The dial features gold-colored brass hands and hour markers. The casing is in neat, original vintage condition with only light signs of age that contribute to its character.
Technology & Movement:
Located on the back is the original mechanical Hermle 130-020 movement (Franz Hermle & Söhne, West Germany). This is a high-quality 8-day movement with a 'floating balance,' meaning the clock does not need to be perfectly level to run accurately. The movement features an atmospheric bim-bam striking mechanism that strikes on three metal gongs every hour and half-hour. The mechanism functions well and the original metal winding key is included.
