Mid-century, vintage, bentwood standing/floor coat and hat rack with twelve hooks from the 1960's/1970's.
Piece is made of beech, with a walnut-colored finish. It has twelve, bentwood hooks: six larger ones on the upper tier, and six smaller ones on the lower tier, and rests on four, bentwood feet (see photos.)
Made by Baumann in the 1960's, this model is iconic, classic and referred under number 198 in the Baumann catalog, also known as a "perroquet". The upper section swivels, and can be disassembled (see photos.) These were typically found in French bistros, during this epoch.
The piece is in overall very good, original and vintage condition, with some light marks, signs of age and previous use commensurate with time, as well as a patina of time, on the overall structure, hooks, post (stand), legs, circle and leg tips (see photos.) Note: A minor discrepancy at the tip of two legs, but that disappears, once coats or other articles of clothing are hung, as the legs are made of bentwood, so they adjust with the weight carried.
Piece has its original maker's mark (see photo.)
It has only been gently cleaned with respect to its original patina of time.
All photos taken in natural outdoor light, so colors may vary, based upon brightness, reflections of stone, angles and perspective in which they are viewed.
Piece can be disassembled into 2, individual parts (as shown in photo), and will be fully disassembled for shipping purposes. There are 24 Phillips screws to put back. Reassembling directions will be provided.
