An exceptional piece of late-1960s Space Age industrial design: the Philips Infraphil HP3603 infrared table lamp, beautifully preserved in collector-grade condition.
Characterized by its iconic "megaphone" silhouette, this design lamp model is a celebrated mid/century modern, space/atomic age classic - frequently associated with modernist architect and designer Charlotte Perriand.
This specific version is the highly coveted, early-production variant (made between 1966-1969) featuring the original deep burgundy/chestnut red melamine handle - a striking contrast against the glossy cream finish to the metal body,and silver chrome frame. Later 1970s iterations shifted to basic black or orange and plastic to cut production costs, making this burgundy edition such a gem!

Highlights:
- Cast aluminum construction: Features the original, heavy cast-aluminum body, providing a solid weight and structural durability far superior to later sheet-steel or plastic variations.
- Original Holland-etched glass bulb: Retains its authentic, vintage Philips 150W red pressed-glass bulb, complete with the original white factory crest logos stamped on the front face.
- Flawless chrome frame: The chrome wire bracket stand tilts smoothly, locking firmly at any angle, and is completely free of pitting or rust. The metal cream body does have very minor scuffs and some light bubbling on the underside but no peeling (see specific photos provided) or heat damage.
- Untouched electricals: Complete with the original white power cable and molded 2-pin Philips Type C European plug. Only used at home of course, so not formally tested by electrical experts.
- Condition: Very good to excellent vintage condition. The cream lacquer remains incredibly clean and glossy, showing only minor, superficial signs of age on the underside consistent with normal handling and use of the infrared heating element. The glass bulb is clear with surface level scratches only, and the lamp is fully operational, providing a surprisingly warm glow and rich red/orange ambient light even after all these years. No structural cracks or modifications.
