There are pieces of furniture that capture attention with their form. This sideboard does it much more subtly. It only becomes captivating when the light begins to work on its surface.
An exceptionally rare, modernist sideboard. Likely produced in only one piece, it strongly evokes Italian pieces from the 1960s and the mid-century modern era. The streamlined, soft shape is finished in a unique shade of muted blue with a hint of gray. The color is not uniform - it blends with the natural grain of the wood, creating depth and subtle tonal transitions that make this piece truly unique.
The most original detail is the front. Hidden beneath the finish is a subtle, geometric image. The pattern is surprising, creating a three-dimensional impression and changing depending on the angle of light. The natural, rich wood grain is permeated by emerging and disappearing rhombuses. Viewed from the front, they are practically invisible, but when viewed from an angle, they become distinct and beautifully complement the overall design of the piece, creating an almost illusionistic effect: one moment invisible, the next emerging as a discreet, elegant accent. This is a detail that isn't immediately revealed, but rather unfolds over time.
The sideboard is also functional. The attractively decorated front features a pair of sliding doors. Inside, there are shelves. The rounded sides emphasize the fluidity of the form, while the slender wooden legs add a touch of lightness to the structure. The shape of the carved legs perfectly complements the composition.
