Mid-Century Modern Egg Chair in the Manner of Arne Jacobsen – Restoration Project
A fantastic Mid-Century Modern Egg Chair in the manner of the iconic Arne Jacobsen design created for Fritz Hansen in 1958. This is an exciting opportunity to acquire a classic design ready to be restored and upholstered to your own taste and specification. I have checked and I cant find any makers mark and due to the missing cloth no label either but this chairs shows all the signs and atributes for an original chair the weight and material is correct, the 4 prong stand is correct the measurments fit an original and the tilt mechanism fits an original chair.
The chair has been stripped back in preparation for restoration, exposing the original folded shell construction and the remaining foam padding beneath. This offers an ideal blank canvas for a professional upholsterer or an enthusiastic restoration project, allowing you to choose your preferred fabric or leather finish.
The chair retains its chrome swivel and tilt base, a defining feature of the famous 1958 design, providing both comfort and functionality once restored.
Please note that the chair requires complete reupholstery and restoration before it can be used. As shown, it is a restoration project and is being sold in its current condition.
