Beautiful Mid-Century Modern Ceramic Wall Plaque "Oiseaux au nid" (Birds in the Nest). Designed circa 1960 by the renowned Belgian artist Élie Van Damme (1928–1997) for the famous Amphora pottery studio in Sint-Andries, Bruges.
This striking Brutalist-era relief sculpture features an expressive stylized mother bird feeding her hungry chicks, set against a vibrant, heavily textured red and dark lava-crackle sun backdrop. The piece beautifully contrasts raw, dark ceramic textures with stunning, pooled turquoise-blue and orange-brown high-gloss glazes.
