This is a striking Danish studio earthenware bowl or wall plate, designed by Noomi Backhausen for Søholm in the 1960s. The piece illustrates the expressive and organic approach to ceramics that was characteristic of the Scandinavian design tradition in the mid-twentieth century. Crafted from high-quality ceramic with minor imperfections, the plate displays a rich, hand-painted geometric and floral motif.
