For sale is a rare, extremely versatile mid-century design object of exceptional quality: the original Hawaii multi-purpose furniture. An absolutely functional piece of engineering and design from the 1960s/70s, it can be transformed in just a few simple steps from a portable side table to a double sun lounger with a table, and even a rocking chair/deck chair with a convertible canopy.
Special highlights for collectors and enthusiasts:
Original documentation included: Includes the rare original assembly/operating instructions and the original trade fair order postcard (manufacturer's proof: Oswald Brunn Model Building / Zeyher).
Excellent fabric condition: The striking orange convertible top is vibrant and unfaded. The fabric roof has no tears (only a few age-related open seams that can easily be repaired).
Iconic upholstery: The original 1970s psychedelic/pop art patterned upholstery in vibrant pink and orange is complete and in its original condition.
Complete: All wooden elements, folding stools, serving trays/shelf units, and accessories are present.
Detailed condition:
The piece of furniture is in unaltered, authentic original condition. Due to age, a few wood joints/boards have come loose as the old glue has dried out, and two or three boards are slightly warped, which does not detract from its authentic charm. The wood has an authentic patina on exposed parts but is otherwise solid and undamaged. The wood itself is intact; the joints can easily be re-glued. We deliberately left the item in its original, pristine condition to avoid diminishing its value for collectors through improper restoration.
