Product description
This sunburst ceiling light was made in the 1950s, reflecting the Mid-Century fascination with sun and starburst forms that spread across lighting design of the era. A domed gilt metal center anchors two tiers of leaf-shaped rays, alternating in length to create a layered, dynamic silhouette that reads as sculpture as much as illumination. The gilding shows wear and patina consistent with age, with darker tones breaking through the gold across the dome and along several of the rays. The fixture is fitted with two E26/E27 sockets, wired and ready for installation in the United States. Its scale and radial form suit a dining room, entry hall, or bedroom ceiling, and it works equally well as a statement piece mounted flat against a wall. Sunburst fixtures like this one were produced widely through the 1950s and 1960s as Mid-Century designers embraced sun motifs across furniture, mirrors, and lighting, and this example retains the hand-finished, slightly irregular quality typical of pieces from that period rather than a later reproduction.
