This striking ceramic set of three ashtrays originates from West Germany and stylistically belongs to the Mid-Century period (c. 1955–1970). The collection impresses with its harmonious color palette and the intriguing contrast between studio ceramics and graphically clear forms.
At its center is a large, octagonal ashtray with a prominent central ridge. The vibrant cream glaze with turquoise and olive accents and fine speckling is reminiscent of the West German studio ceramics/Fat Lava era. Due to its size and weight, this piece is ideally suited as a sculptural object or coffee table piece.
The set is complemented by two yellow-glazed mid-century ashtrays:
• a square model with clean, functional lines
• an organically shaped ashtray with a decorative black panther figure, a typical motif of the 1950s/60s
All pieces are made of glazed ceramic. The overall condition is good and commensurate with age, with fine crazing and slight signs of wear that emphasize their authentic character. Some are marked "Made in Germany" on the base.
Dimensions (approx.):
• large ashtray: Ø 30–31 cm
• yellow ashtrays: approx. 13–15 cm
This set is ideal as a mid-century interior accent, for collectors of West German ceramics, or as a decorative object beyond its original function.
