The AP40 chair was designed in 1958 by Hans J. Wegner for Kastrup Airport hence the name. Danish designer Hans J. Wegner (1914-2007) is commonly credited as one of the most influential designers in history and as a driving force in the Mid-Century Danish modern movement. While best known for his chairs, Wegner also created other memorable furniture and collaborated with several renowned manufacturers such as AP Stolen, Getama, Fritz Hansen and Louis Poulsen. His work is included in the permanent collections of the world’s most respected museums.
