Unique, pristine Mechelen buffet cabinet, hand-carved from oak around 1880, originating from the inventory of a country house in the Bruges area. Richly ornamented, entirely original, featuring the six characteristic lion heads and brass rings. The two mascaron motifs, typical of the French Neo-Renaissance style, on the two door panels of the lower cabinet also feature brass rings.
The doors of the upper cabinet feature hammered copper bas-relief plates of classical tavern scenes by Louis Dupuis, depicting men playing cards and drinking.
