This extending dining table is model T3 by A.H. McIntosh and Co Ltd of Kirkcaldy, Scotland, one of the leading Scottish furniture manufacturers of the mid-century period, dating from the 1960s. The design reflects the clean, architectural language typical of McIntosh's output, with tapered, subtly splayed legs and a shaped apron framing a warm teak top. A concealed draw-leaf mechanism allows the table to extend from a compact 152 cm to 228 cm, with two additional leaves that fold out and lock into place using period-correct patented hardware. This flexibility makes it well suited to a dining room that needs to move easily between everyday use and larger gatherings. Condition and Character Original condition with signs of use, including scratches across the top and some fading to the surface. The teak top shows scratches and light discoloring consistent with decades of use, most visible under raking light, along with minor age-related surface wear.
