Exquisitely delicate "Isocele" table set by metal master Max Sauze from the 1970s.
The slender struts evoke the look of fine pencil strokes, making the glass plates appear to float within their frames.
Dreamy and timeless.
The Algerian-French metal master Max Sauze was born in Algiers in 1933. He studied at the École Supérieure des Beaux-Arts d'Alger (1953-56) and the École Camondo in Paris (1956-59). Shortly thereafter, he began realizing his own designs in a small art workshop in Algiers.
In 1968, Sauze founded his eponymous company, specializing in working with aluminum and focusing on dynamic, sculptural lighting. His designs often incorporate bent and intertwined aluminum strips attached to steel wire structures.
It is said that this production process is based on Sauze's spiritual philosophy and the inherently repetitive nature of life.
