Unique painted wood coffee table created circa 1930 by Maurice Jallot. Its elegant and refined structure perfectly embodies the aesthetic developed by the Jallot workshop during this period, combining architectural volumes with the finesse of exceptional craftsmanship. A vision of the unique piece deeply cherished by the designer, where luxury is expressed above all through excellence of execution and the singularity of each creation. Finished in a delicate ivory paint, the table rests on a subtly curved base terminating in brass-studded sabots, a characteristic detail of Jallot’s work, who employed metal with great restraint, primarily as an element of protection or reinforcement. A composition of soft and balanced lines supporting a top with a slight raised border forming a delicate frame. The top is adorned with a magnificent hand-painted polychrome decor depicting flying birds alongside insects. Executed with precision and lightness, the decoration recalls the Art Nouveau heritage passed down by his father, Léon Jallot, with whom Maurice began his career after leaving the École Boulle. A remarkable piece, fully restored in our workshop.
