Created by Mario Rossello for Studio Casarini in Savona in the 1990s, this refined fused glass artwork was specially commissioned for Dr. Mantero, chief hand surgeon, transforming gesture, precision and sensitivity into an artistic composition.
The piece depicts two hands reaching toward one another: one rendered in relief with polychrome glass elements in warm and cool tones, the other in satin white glass, almost like an ethereal presence. The milky white background, enriched with green and blue inclusions, adds depth and lightness to the composition, while the blue perimeter frame elegantly defines its visual rhythm.
The original black metal stand enhances the transparency and luminosity of the glass, allowing the work to interact beautifully with light and surrounding space. A unique piece with strong symbolic and narrative value, combining art, craftsmanship and the memory of Savona’s local cultural context.
A highly decorative and collectible work, ideal as a luminous tabletop sculpture or as a rare testimony of an important private commission.
