Beautiful mid-century modern ceramic wall plaque/relief plate by the celebrated Belgian ceramicist Marie-Henriette Bataille (1931–2014) for the renowned Atelier Dour studio. Founded in 1947, the workshop became famous for its organic, expressive brutalist style.
This piece features an incised low-relief illustration of a stylized vase with flowers, decorated with a combination of earthy brown, cream, and metallic-toned glazes with subtle lavender highlights. The reverse shows the authentic regional red earthenware clay, stamped "DOUR" and initialed "MHB".
An excellent addition to any collection of high-end vintage European studio pottery, perfect as a sculptural wall accent for modern interiors.
