Iconic "Senior" armchair, designed by Marco Zanuso for Arflex in 1951, one of the milestones of Italian post-war design and an early example of Zanuso's pioneering work with foam rubber and steel internal springs. Recognizable by its high, wavy backrest with a rolled profile, wide round armrests, and characteristic narrow, angled brass legs.
The upholstery is a striped fabric in warm ocher brown, camel, and dark brown tones, which further accentuates the sculptural lines of the armchair.
Condition: good overall condition. The piece was most likely re-upholstered at a later date. The fabric on the seat is slightly worn, which is fitting for an armchair with character and history. The brass legs have a beautiful, authentic patina.
