RARE M1 DESK LAMP BY FLORIS FIEDELDIJ FOR ARTIMETA (CA. 1956)
Designed by Floris Fiedeldij for Artimeta Soest around 1956, this rare M1 desk lamp is a quintessential example of Dutch mid-century modern design. With its striking red metal shade, partly perforated to create a soft, ambient glow, the lamp combines elegance and functionality in a minimalist silhouette.
The height is adjustable via a nickel-plated sliding tube, allowing for tailored positioning and practical use in any workspace or interior. Its slim profile and architectural form reflect the clean lines typical of Fiedeldij’s vision and the progressive spirit of Dutch post-war design.
A hard-to-find piece, this M1 model is a true collector’s item and a timeless addition to any curated design setting.
Now nearly 70 years old, the lamp remains in good original vintage condition, with visible but expected signs of age on both the base and shade, adding to its authentic character.
