This figurine group "Autumn" from the Ludwigsburg Porcelain Manufactory's Seasons series dates from the late 18th century. It depicts an elegantly dressed couple on a naturalistic base, with a fruit basket at their feet – a classic Rococo motif symbolizing the bounty of autumn. The delicate modeling of the faces, the elaborately draped garments with floral patterns, and the nuanced, pastel painting are typical of the high quality of Ludwigsburg porcelain. The piece bears the manufactory mark and is documented in the standard reference work "Hans Dieter Flach, Ludwigsburg Porcelain," page 508, no. 58. The figurine group is in very good condition for its age. There is an original firing crack on the underside, and the flute above the man's hand is missing – both of which hardly detract from the overall effect of the group, but should be mentioned for the sake of completeness.
The piece is marked with the manufactory's mark and is documented in the standard reference work "Hans Dieter Flach, Ludwigsburg Porcelain," page 508, no. 58.
