Born Lucie Hartenstein (née Meyer), she studied under Pierre Jérôme, André Planson, and Claude Schürr at the Académie Julian. She exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants under the name Lucie Rivel-Meyer in the 1950s. Living in Juvisy-sur-Orge (Essonne), she founded the Salon Paris-Sud.
