The Luceplan Costanza Mystic White is a world-famous design classic, designed in 1986 by Paolo Rizzatto for the Italian lighting brand Luceplan. The lamp reinterprets the traditional table lamp with a shade in an extremely modern guise. This specific example is executed in the serene “Mystic White” color combination, in which both the iconic, lightweight polycarbonate shade and the minimalist aluminum stem and square base feature a sleek, matte white finish.
A technical feature of the Luceplan Costanza Mystic White is the slender sensor switch rod (the familiar metal lever) located just below the socket. This allows the lamp to be smoothly switched on and off with a light touch, or its intensity to be dimmed (depending on the built-in dimmer module). The recognizable, tapered shade rests on just two subtle support points of the fixture, making it appear to float visually. The shade diffuses a warm, diffused ambient light all around, while the open top and bottom ensure direct light falls on the table and the ceiling.
