My journeyman's piece is a modern TV stand made of oak-veneered chipboard. The piece is 150 cm wide, 55 cm high, and 42 cm deep. The 25 mm thick cabinet panels are mitered and securely joined. There is a recessed door on each side, hung with cranked hinges (type B).
Behind each door is a shelf. In the center section, below the open compartment, are two solid oak drawers that slide on classic runners. Like the doors, these drawers can be opened a crack with a light press on the front. A black four-outlet power strip is integrated into the solid back panel of the TV stand, centered at the height of the open compartment.
The open compartment has internal dimensions of 644 mm wide, 173.5 mm high, and 354 mm deep. These dimensions allow for optimal storage of receivers and game consoles. Behind the doors, items such as books, magazines, or media like DVDs and Blu-rays can be stored. The drawer provides space for items like cables, remote controls, or other accessories.
A 12 mm thick black HI-MACS panel is inset into the top panel. Its robust and smooth surface makes it ideal as a surface for a television. A round cable management opening behind the HI-MACS panel leads from the top panel into the open compartment. To preserve the natural finish and aesthetic appeal of the wood, all wooden surfaces have been treated with Projektól. The bottom of the unit is finished with two black, 15 cm high steel legs.
