Lounge chair — Georges Van Rijck for Beaufort, Belgium, ca. 1960
Rare adjustable armchair designed by Georges Van Rijck for the Belgian furniture brand Beaufort. The chair combines a sleek oak frame with full upholstery in dark brown faux leather. Characteristic features include the high, slightly flared backrest with an integrated neck roll and three decorative buttons on the back. The backrest is adjustable via a brass-colored hinge mechanism on the side — a technically and aesthetically elegant detail typical of this model.
The frame is in good vintage condition with light signs of wear consistent with its age. The upholstery is intact and functional, but shows the necessary patina of sixty years of use — discoloration on the seat and small wear marks on the back. One of the three decorative buttons on the back is missing.
