Louis van Teeffelen (1921-1972) was an influential Dutch designer who worked for furniture factory Wébé.
His designs are characterized by organic forms, refined finishes and a Scandinavian influence, often executed in teak. His furniture pieces, including the "A" armchairs, combine elegance and functionality.
The "A" armchairs have a slim teak frame in typical A shape, geometric armrests and a comfortable upholstered seat. The slightly sloping backrest ensures optimal seating comfort, while the refined design makes these armchairs timeless design pieces.
This example, the so-called "Ladies" Model with low back, is completely restored, new padding and upholstery and has a fully restored frame.
Van Teeffelen's work remains beloved among lovers of Mid - Century Modern and vintage design.
His furniture fits into both vintage and modern interiors, and their durable materials and ergonomic design still make them sought after. Van Teeffelen's legacy lives on in his designs, which combine craftsmanship, aesthetics and innovation.
A true pioneer in Dutch design!
