Product description
Beautiful Danish vintage design lamp in white by Poul Henningsen. This lamp is the first generation from the 1960s with the original spring design. The lamp is designed to diffuse light both horizontally and vertically, preventing direct light from reaching the lamp. The various shades of white and blue create a beautiful light distribution. The lamp is almost entirely original. Some signs of wear, see photos. Otherwise, it is in very good condition.
This iconic PH5 lamp was designed by Danish designer Poul Henningsen. You'll find this lamp hanging in almost every Danish household. The design originated in 1958 in response to light bulb manufacturers constantly changing shapes and sizes, much to Henningsen's frustration. This lamp therefore accommodated any light bulb. The number 5 represents the 50 cm diameter.
