The models in the "Albertslund Series" were designed by Jens Møller Jensen in 1963 for a residential area in Albertslund, a suburb of Copenhagen. The Orbiter pendant lights follow the design elements of the rest of the Albertslund series and, like them, feature a glare-control ring, three vertical struts, and a large, flat ring that also serves as a reflector.
The Orbiter Maxi from the Albertslund series, with its characteristic Saturn rings, is a true classic, a timelessly elegant pendant light.
The light emits a diffused, soft, and pleasant light.
Material: Powder-coated aluminum, weight approx. 6 kg.
The light has three G24d sockets and can be used with energy-efficient LEDs. Three matching bulbs in warm white/neutral white can be included for an additional charge. The original light is equipped with three 18W compact fluorescent lamps, such as the Osram Dulux.
The two small and the large Saturn rings are designed to create an evenly illuminated area in the room.
... They direct and divide the light upwards and downwards, creating a decorative play of shadows together with the three vertical struts.
The desired lighting effect can be varied with an acrylic glass diffuser, available in clear or frosted finish.
One diffuser is included in the price; an additional one is available for €30.
The closed acrylic glass hood was prone to thermal problems and failures due to heat buildup. Therefore, open cylinders are used for protected indoor applications.
This light fixture has not been manufactured for many years and is only available from our "vintage" stock. It is used worldwide today as the perfect architectural finishing touch.
The lights are in very good condition, but not new.
