Thousands of kilometers from Europe, these coins were part of the daily lives of the inhabitants of Sri Lanka, the ancient island of Ceylon, known for its tea plantations, temples, and legendary maritime routes. This lot brings together six authentic coins issued in the 1980s, bearing official inscriptions in Sinhalese and Tamil as well as the national coat of arms of Sri Lanka.
