GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Magnificent pair of bas-relief panels from the renowned French manufacturer SIC (Société Industrielle de Création), dating from the 1970s-1980s [1.1, 1.15]. These pieces of folk art perfectly imitate solid wood carving with an exceptional level of detail [1.2, 1.15].
DETAILS OF THE TWO PANELS
1. The Family at Home (Model No. 145)
Subject: A warm scene depicting three generations: a grandfather, a grandmother at her spinning wheel, and a child gathered in front of a monumental fireplace with its pot and pinion [1.1, 1.12, 1.15].
Setting: Rustic interior complete with country-style sideboard and grandfather clock [1.14, 1.15].
2. The Card Game (Tavern Scene)
Subject: Lively scene depicting four men playing belote in an inn, accompanied by a dog lying in the foreground [1.2, 1.5, 1.30].
Details: Rich setting including a viola da gamba hanging on the wall and a sideboard laden with pitchers [1.2, 1.30].
