Huge lithograph by Gerti Bierenbroodspot. Purchased during the PAN Amsterdam at Gallery Delaive B.V. Beautifully framed in a wooden frame with glass by renowned framer Krutzmann in Amsterdam. Gerti BIERENBROODSPOT (Amsterdam 1940) Painter, sculptor, poet Education: Gerti Bierenbroodspot studied at the Amsterdam University of the Arts from 1957 to 1961. She subsequently continued her education at the Rijksacademie voor Beeldende Kunsten Amsterdam. Lives and works in Amsterdam. Gerti Bierenbroodspot is a versatile artist, using a wide variety of materials and mastering several disciplines. The central theme in her work can be described as a labyrinth of the time in which we wander. An important source of inspiration for Bierenbroodspot is classical antiquity, which is why she has traveled extensively through the Middle East and worked there. These travels have allowed her to see numerous excavations, which are an integral part of her work, as well as the colors and materials Gerti Bierenbroodspot uses. In much of Bierenbroodspot's work, particularly her paintings, you'll encounter fragments of ancient temples and other structures. Exhibitions and awards: Gerti Bierenbroodspot was appointed Knight in the Order of the Netherlands Lion in 1999. She has had numerous exhibitions in the Netherlands and abroad, including in Amman, Beirut, and New York.
