Elegant Limoges porcelain candy box, characteristic of the interwar period when French manufacturers liked to combine the refinement of floral decoration with the new geometric lines of Art Deco. Its slightly square shape with softened corners is topped with a particularly decorative domed lid. A generous bouquet of roses and polychrome flowers blossoms at the center, surrounded by a striking geometric network evoking the lines of a stained-glass window. Silver highlights and touches of deep cobalt blue structure the overall design and lend the piece its full modernity. The same decor continues on the body of the box with delicate floral bouquets, creating a particularly harmonious composition when the candy box is closed. The porcelain is well-preserved. The silver highlights show a natural patina and wear in places, consistent with its age, which attest to its antiquity without detracting from its charm. A lovely Limoges piece, both romantic with its floral decor and resolutely Art Deco in its graphic construction. Width approximately 13 cm. MF Limoges France, circa 1930.
